Heading over to Pat’s, he is driving Dan and Me to Kentucky to see Uncle Jack and Charlene. It’s a beautiful sunny day, maybe a little cool.

Met up with Jack and Charlene at Berea at a State Crafts store, a lot of nice stuff.  Went on to Crackle Barrel for lunch, still not my favorite place to eat. After lunch we walked around Berea’s Old Downtown and looked at all the crafts shops.  Nice stuff, but no real bargains. There was a weaving shop and the guy showed us all about how to weave. pretty cool.

Jack told some stories about he and Dad.  The best was on a snowy day they went out to play and were rough housing washing each others faces with snow and their Mom (my Grandma) came out and uncharacteristically joined in the fight.  When they finished she told Uncle Jack to go get a bucket.  Grandma filled it with snow and took it inside and dumped it on Grandpa.  I guess the fur flew then.  Grandpa was not a happy man.

Restrung Paul’s guitar.  Wasn’t too bad.  The biggest problem was when you get down to the thinner strings the knot did not want to hold.  I didn’t  bother to change the high E string it didn’t seem to be any worse for the wear like some of the lower strings.  Besides I did’t want to wrestle with the knot on one more string.  It is a pretty straight forward knot, but the string is so slick it wants to slide out.

Watched some of the Wisconsin versus Miami bowl game.  Wisconsin won 20-14, but for awhile it looked like they might give it away.

UD beat Boston University in basketball 74-60.  If UD can be more consistent and get everybody playing to their potential they have a chance to be real good.  They play New Mexico State at their place in a few days which should be a good gauge if they belong in the top 25.  New Mexico is real tough at home.

Looks like today will be the first time I will have to shovel snow. There might be two inches, but not much.  The weather forecast says it will stay cold, so its shoveling for me.

Changed the bi-line on the site from “Thoughts on the Day” to “Ramblings on the Day.”  Seemed more appropriate, maybe it should just be “Ramblings.”

Judy beat Tim and Jen at scrabble by 99 points. Another score for the old people.

Got the digital picture frame to work.  I like it.  I almost wish it is bigger.

When to see the new Sherlock Holmes movie.  This sure isn’t your Grandma’s Sherlock Holmes, a little kung phooey, but entertaining.  Puts a whole new light on the Holmes character.  THey have set it up we for sequels.

We went to Panara for dinner so Judy can get home and get ready for her girls days in Detroit. THey are leaving tonight at about 8:30.

Played around on the guitar.  I used Peg’s old one.  Metal strings, I am going to get some nylon one’s for Paul’s guitar.  The metal ones are too hard on the fingers.

It’s beautiful this morning, sunshiny and in the mid thirty’s.  They are talking about 1 to 3 inches of snow by tonight.  We will just have to see.

Met Pat after church and did his hike around Oakwood. The renovations they did to Hills and Dales Park are very nice.

Went to dinner at Applebees, had a burger.  Judy didn’t want turkey and dressing for another meal.  Not sure why?

Set up the digital picture frame.  Seems to work, but every once in a while there ad pictures show up.  There is a new firmware, but it appears it can only be installed using a PC so it will have to wait until tomorrow.

Bengals and Browns both won today… amazing.  Bengals clinched the division.

Watched UP, a new Pixar animation. Pretty coo, Pat had recommended it and his praises were well grounded. The detail in the animation was great.

Judy is getting ready for the girl’s trip to Detroit to see Eileen.  Seems to be an emphasis on food and booze.

Everything is starting a little slower today.  At some time I will get out for a hike, but I don’t expect anything to happen quickly today. The sun is out nice and bright, Daisy is trying to find a good spot to lay in the sun.

Did get a hike in, it was almost 45 degrees. A little windy, but very nice. They talked about it becoming cloudy as the day went on, but the sun stayed out most of the day.

Tim video called me and he was telling me about what he was trying to do with his new flash. He also uploaded a bunch of the pictures to Picasa, nice.

We decided to see if we could get Skype hooked up so Judy can video with Tim as well since AIM does not seem as easy to do.  As with most things Windows, I fiddled with Judy’s PC for a while and couldn’t get it to work and then… it all works. Who knows, there is one thing I will say about Mac is that in most cases it works from the first try.

Turkey and dressing for the third day in a row. Who says you can’t eat the same thing every day?

Football today was pretty dull.  Was going to stay up a little longer and watch the USC versus Boston College in the Emerald Bowl, but the quarterback for Boston College couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn. Time for bed.

Daisy had a long day yesterday.  With all the visitors she didn’t get her usual naps.  She was beat last night. Hopefully she will be able to relax a little more today.

Heading to church at 9:00 then back home to start peeling and chopping.

It looks like it rained big last night.  Still a little rainy this morning, but it looks like it is braking up.

Everyone got here a little after noon, everything was ready.  It was kind of weird, everyone was here, fifteen. The place felt crowded, but it was just a little strange.  Without  Eileen, Jim, Matt, Erin, Rob, Paul, Tim, and Jen it just wasn’t quit crowded enough.

Food was great and we finished it off with cookies and pie, way too much.  It was kind of funny I commented to Teresa that I missed the shortbread cookies.  She said I should talk to Elaine she put the trays together. Later I said to Elaine that I missed the shortbread cookies.  She laughed and said I should talk to her Mom, it as a sore subject. I laughed told her, her Mom said I should talk to you.

Tim was able to set up computer visit II. He was able to show us some of the pictures he had taken with his new lenses and flash.  Some nice shots.

Talked to Paul for a good while.  It worked out he had Christmas off, pretty nice. He may have a shot at a full time job with the park service.  If it gets funded and he gets picked he would be in charge of the Paradise area setting trails in the spring and summers and sledding runs in the winter.

Everyone left about 5:00 PM and we took a short breather and then went over to Linda’s for a final desert.  Charlie gave me a hard time for giving him a hard time the previous day. I just laughed.

They gave Judy a hard time, both Linda and Brit had on aprons they supposedly just whipped up that morning, making fun of Judy, who is supposed to be making an apron with her new sewing machine.

Sydney and me played her new air hockey game.  She thought that was real funny.

We headed home about 9:00 PM.
