March 23, 2010: Tired

Quiet day again,  a little tired. The U.D. game didn’t get over until almost 11:30. Short nights are not my friend.

The weather took its sweat time moderating. About the time practice was over the sun finally came out. Would have been nice if it had come out at three instead of five.

Played the dulcimer for a little while on the deck. Daisy seemed to get around okay, but she is getting weaker by the day.

Put what probably should be the last coat on the dulcimer. Final sanding and wax tomorrow. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

March 22, 2010: No Tennis

They were calling for rain and they were right. Around 4:00 AM I heard it start and it continues until about 7:00 AM. After that just enough to keep us from having tennis practice.

Kind of a quiet day at work. Judy took a sick day. She if trying to keep her cold form getting bad since she is going to Portland in a couple weeks.

Put another coat on the dulcimer. It is starting to look pretty good. Also got some practice in, I have three songs pretty well memorized. Every once in a while I get lost, but I am getting there.

UD finally bested UC. It was a rough game two teams with almost zero offense duking it out.

March 21, 2010: The Weatherman Was Wrong

Today turned out to be a great day. Warmer than they thought and no rain or snow.

Pat and I went out to Dan’s after church and finished up the apple trees. That makes about 100 trees. One bushel per tree 100 bushels of apples …maybe. Dan was saying the winter weather with the snow and rain should mean a good crop. The only problem we may face is we really had to chop the trees a bunch to get them in shape. We maybe a year away from good production, The trees are old, so almost anything can happen.

Getting to the end with the dulcimer. Spent most of the afternoon doing the final prep for shellac. It looks pretty good. It will be interesting to se how it all ends up.

March 20, 2010: Another Beautiful Day

It was really nice. Sunny and warm. I even hiked today, at the Narrows, in shorts and a tee shirt.

Got a lot of work done on the dulcimer today. The top and bottom  are on with luck I will get it pretty much done tomorrow except for finish.

Watched some of the NCAA’s today. Some nice upsets, Northern Iowa beating Kansas as the best.

March 19, 2010: Snow on Monday?

Another gorgeous day, There are some weird reports that there might be snow on Monday. I hope they are crazy, I have got to finish figuring out who are my top seven. Seth made my job harder by beating Patrick. It was pretty clear until then.

Quiet day at work. Kevin had meetings away from the office for most of the day, so I kept working on the Lynda.com classes. Today should have been my last day on the current subscription.
