March 18, 2010: Mosquitos Are Back

Another beautiful day, sunny and warm. I don’t suppose we will be this lucky all tennis season.

Pretty quiet at work today. Kevin was telling Jeff about the possibility that we might be able to start bingo to help fund athletics. He wanted a bunch of information so it could be presented to the school board. He doesn’t get it, We don’t need their approval. We will not be running it, independent citizens will. The athletic department will be the beneficiary.

Put another coat on the dulcimer fingerboard. It is looking pretty good. If I can get the overlap from the top to the sides to go away it would be perfect. The nice thing is it is easy to fix mistakes using shellac. Played the dulcimer on the deck. Might have stayed out a little longer, but the mosquitos were biting.

March 17, 2010: St. Patrick’s Day

It was a beautiful sunny St. Patrick’s Day. I actually forgot all about it until I got to school. No green for me today.

Quiet at school, Kevin took a mental health day. Took more phone calls from officials that have not been paid yet. I just can’t believe we have an administration that put up with the treasurers office and the way it is run. I get the urge every once in a while to write a letter to the board to let them what is going on. I just might have to do that and live with the retribution.

I was kind of surprised as I was setting up today’s tennis practice that I have twenty-two out for the team. If everyone that tried stayed I could almost have thirty guys. I am glad they all did not stay.

Went to the NIT game with Pat. UD won by twenty-one. Boy if Illinois State was one of the best teams in the Missouri Valley conference, wow. Maybe I am changing my mind about adding more teams to the NCAA Tournament.

March 16, 2010: How Much Room Is There in My Brain?

The dark mornings are a bit of a bummer after having the sun in the mornings. The good news, it won’t be long until the day is long enough that we will have daylight for the trip to work in the morning.

Kevin was funny, he said he filled out his census form. Five kids one black, two white, one asian, and one indian. He wants to make sure our area gets proper representation.

Put another coat of shellac on the fingerboard. It is looking good, but the alcohol base really stinks, kind of gives me a headache.

I have memorized two of the songs on the dulcimer, thought I had a third. When I started working on the fourth my brain went dead and I am back to two songs. I hope my brain has more room than for just two songs.

March 15, 2010: Cold and Gray

Cold and gray day. The sun is supposed to come out tomorrow. We can only hope.

A guy from the OHSAA showed up today out of the blue. Trying to set things right for the mess they made last week. They are still as arrogant as they come, they show up without an appointment. They guy cannot even take off his gloves to shake hands. Mister smooze that’s all. I understand Kent sent an email to the them. It must have been good, it didn’t even pis them off.

Guys weren’t too happy with the cold, but we got through practice. Had the first position round, no real surprises.

Put the first coat on the dulcimer fret board. Looks good. The smell is terrible. It is going to be tough to handle. Need to get a betier mask.

March 14, 2010: Lethal Weapon

Another rainy day, but I was able to get a couple hour walk in with Greg. We walked the bike path. Couldn’t walk at the Narrows it was closed due to high water. Been a real rainy two days.

The time change has kind of thrown me for a loop. Feel kind of foggy. You wouldn’t think an hour would make you feel so funky.

Doing a Lethal Weapon sorta marathon. Lethal Weapon is much better than Die Hard.

Judy was really happy that everything went so well for her OASN conference went so well.

Judy won some gift certificates to Outback. We went there for dinner, not bad, but I would not go out of my way to go back.
