Went to church again at St. Anthony’s, the simple mass. They had a sub today. A rambler, not prepared to give his sermon. I guess he though he could just wing it.

Greg called and he wants to give a hike a shot. We will make it, but it will be slow. We will have to see if we get wet. This will be definitely more fun than going alone. AccuWeather says it won’t be raining. I hope its right.

No real rain on the hike. The good news was the snow was a little soft, so the ice problem of the day before was gone. The first stair was still a little slick. Greg was funny I got him talking about some of the little problems that come up as a dentist. Funny now maybe a little tense at the time.

UD dumped another winnable game. Even though they did not lay well they had two shots at the end to win the game. There is all this talk about whether they make the NCAA’s. They keep forgetting about the league tournament. I think UD will continue to bumble their way through the league schedule to do very well in the league tournament. It might be wishful thinking, but you never know.

Worked a little while on the dulcimer and continued to work on my guitar fingering while watching TV. Its working. I wish my new dulcimer lessons would get here.

Continuing to read the book Anna lent me, Gargoyle. Interesting book, the premiss is a porn star that gets burned badly in a car reck due to a drug problem and how he survives. Interesting so far.

Decided to do an Indiana Jones review, we started with Raiders.

It’s supposed o be a gray day, but there is a little sun this morning. I like it. The warmth yesterday did a little melting, but we are a real long way from getting the snow off the ground.

Greg said he might be available for a hike this afternoon, but I am going to hike this morning. If I do both it will be great exercise. Not like I can’t use it.

The ground at the Narrows is getting a little icy with all the snow packed down and the little melt on top then refreezing to ice. The stairs are the biggest pain. I just took it slow.

Received an email from the library today, my books on tape are due Tuesday. I tried to renew them, but as luck would have it the only tape I haven’t finished is not renewable. I will see if I can get through it this weekend. It’s doable, but I wasn’t looking to rush through it.

Worked mostly on the guitar today so I could get through a few more discs on the book that is due. I did work the dulcimer for a little while. I am going to stick with the Stephen Seifert lesson tunes. I would like to get to a point where I those memorized. Boil Them Cabbage Down was real easy since it is basically series of fours. The “B” part was not real hard to add since the added part is repeated three times and then it goes back to the basic patter in the first part. Lynchburg town is the next one in the book and should be relatively easy to memorize. Once I review it I usually can get through it with only a little glance at the music occasionally. I don’t know if I will be like those people that can stand up there and have tunes called out and they just play them.

Watched a cute Eddie Murphy movie, Imagine That, with Judy. Eddie Murphy plays a divorced Dad with a little girl that has a security blanket that she uses to talk to imaginary friends. The Imaginary friends just happen to be great stock pickers. They help Eddie with his career a a stock broker. Typical  Eddie Murphy kid movie kind of stuff, but fun non the less.

It warmed up a little today and the sun was out all day. The melt has started, at least a little. The weather forecast doesn’t look that good going forward, a little ice, snow, rain, and then it gets cold again.

Not a big day at work. Rosalie isa still being a pain. This appears to be a power struggle between Kevin and her. I hope she has done enough stupid stuff it doesn’t cost Kevin his job. The worst thing that can happen is he gets a year off with pay and plenty of time ot get a new job. He will have a great story, so it shouldn’t hurt him if he wants to be an AD.

Worked on the dulcimer some more. I am going to get it right… sometime. Told Kevin about my learning to play the dulcimer. He wanted to know if I serenade Judy. I told him no, it made her hot. Ha, ha, ha.

Tim was telling me his company might use the picture he took of the windmill farm. He also did a panoramic which is good, but the single shot he used on the calendar is much more dramatic. It is really cool.

Easy night just watched TV and worked on my fingering technique on the guitar. It’s better, but know one will confuse me with one of the guitar legends.

Found the book, Survivors Club, Pat was telling me about. I am the second in line, so it will be awhile until I get to listen to it.

The pancake breakfast at Mad River Schools was canceled, so that gives me a free morning on Saturday. I will be hiking by myself, Greg didn’t go to West Virginia, they are clearing out his Dad’s old house. They finally got it sold.

After a grueling three days off from work I had to go back. I am not sure how I will do it, working a full two hours longer than last week.

Kind of gray today, warming up a little into the mid thirties. Got a lot of work to do to get all this snow melted before tennis is supposed to stop. Can’t see it happening. We need the practice time.

Kind of a quite day. Nothing more than the usual.

When I got home I worked on the dulcimer for a little while. I thing from now on I will stick with the songs in Siefert’s book. They will get me where I need to go to short term and when I finally get the next two lessons it should help me get to the next level.

Went to the UD game with Pat. UD did’t play with the spark they had versus Xavier and Charlotte, but they got it done with a big run with about 8 minutes to go. Winning when you are not playing your best is the sign of a good team. UD just hasn’t been able to do that all the time.

Pat was telling me about a book, Survivors Club, sounds interesting. I will see if I can get it on tape from the library. Pat was also telling me about the fishing dog he saw. He was watching some guys fish off the beach. They would go out in the surf as far as they could and cast their lines. They would then make their way back to the beach to plant their poles in the sand and sit and watch the tips to know when they got a bit. This one guy had a dog that watched the pole very closely and would go crazy when the tip of the rod jiggled. The dog was always right.

Got the call a little after 6:00 AM, no school today. Judy will be hearing it from me today, since all she got was a two hour delay. Looks like pushing the little snow that came last night and then a hike. That means another tough week for me I will have to work two full days this week. Wow might need a nap.

I was surprised the loop around by the nature center as well as the SugarBush Trail were untouched since my hike yesterday. I was glad I wore my gators. It was a pretty good hike. I am kind of beat. A nape might be in order this afternoon.

Being Ash Wednesday it’s tuna noodle casserole day. Got it cooking in the oven, I can taste it already! Judy ia getting a massage at 4:30 PM, it should be out of the oven about 5:45 PM. They should both arrive at about the same time.

The more I look at the Strumstick the more I think that might be my next musical instrument purchase. It plays virtually like a guitar, so it will help me their and it does play like an upside down dulcimer so it should be easy to play.

Pat called, he asked me to UD’s game tomorrow. Need to be at his house about 6:30 PM. Hopefully UD will regain its form and blow LaSalle out of the water. They had a nice time on their trip to the San Antonio area over the long weekend.

Tim emailed a picture of Paul’s girlfriend Andrea and her daughter Sofia when they went to the zoo. Judy knows why he is hanging out with her since she is so cute. Andrea that is, Sofia is cute, by the way, as well.
