February 26, 2010: Blowing Snow

Blowing snow got me a shortened day. Two hour delay due to drifting snow. Thanks for the extra time off, but I need the snow to go away so I can get tennis started.

Pretty quiet day at work. Worked a little more on learning Flash CS4. Looks like an interesting way to do a website. I am not sure I am going to be able to do a site after this tutorial, but there are some other tutorials and books I can look to to maybe get one off the ground. Might be a good way to redo my photography site. We will see.

Worked on the dulcimer when I got home from work. Still no new lesson. I wish it would get here.

Eds and Syd came over so Judy and Ed could work on the signs she needs for the OASN silent auction. Played the dulcimer for them and Syd and Judy played it a little. I keep telling everyone anyone can play this.

It took them until almost 11:30 to finish, so I didn’t get to bed real early.

February 25, 2010: Still No Lesson

Gray and snowy again today. No real accumulation. The weather looks like it is warming up next week. Hopefully the snow will go away, so we can get started the 8th.

Not much going on at work today. I got all of the interims out to the coaches. The guy that DeLong hooked me up with yesterday for tennis has three “F’s”. I asked Bob if this guy usually has trouble with grades. Bob said no, but he isn’t the brightest bulb on the chandelier. Got a couple of others to check on as well.

My new dulcimer lesson did not come today. I thought this would be the day. Did get about an hour in on the dulcimer. I am getting there I just have to keep working on it.

Judy has meetings tonight so I am on my own for dinner. Eggs will hit the spot.

February 24, 2010: Dinner at Woody’s

Gray day with snow showers. There was no real accumulation, but the real key was there was no melting either. I really need melting.

Slow day at work not much going on. I continued to listen to the Flash CS4 tutorial on creating a website with it. It has some possibilities. Probably need some other tutorials to really make it work for me.

Only one guy showed up for my indoor tennis tonight, But one of the guys that I didn’t expect to to come back said he is going to play. I was checking with the football coach to see if he knew of anyone would help the diversity of the tennis team and he introduced me to a guy that said he is interested. We shall see, hope it works out.

Judy and I went to Woody’s for dinner. It’s a BBQ place. It’s good, but I think I like City Barbecue a little better. The restaurant is a franchise in a retread restaurant  site. They need to do something about the booth seats. I am not sure how long they have been in this place, but there are some really good butt prints in them.

UD dumped another at Temple. It was amazing how poorly they played and they still had a chance to pull it out at the end. However, they did some dumb things to finally put themselves out of their own misery.

February 23, 2010: Back to Work

Temperature is above freezing and might stay that way through tomorrow. Need to keep the temperature up so we can get the snow off the courts, so tennis can get started on time.

Centerville called this morning and threw a monkey wrench into the schedule. They have a conflict, so they need to move our date. This means we will end up with a three match week.

Not much going on at work today. I got started on the Lynda.com course on using Flash CS4 to create a website. Its a little confusing, but has some potential.

Worked the dulcimer for about an hour. Wish that new class had showed up.

Judy is off exercising and going to Weight Watchers. Diner by myself tonight.

February 22, 2010: Last Monday Off

Looks like a rainy gray day. After running my errands this morning maybe it will be exercise bike rather than hike today.

Went to Home Depot, Walmart, and Cubs. Got all my errands done and got a surprise, Judy called and she did something to her eye. I will be taking her to the doctors.

While Judy was at the doctors I went to the Bellbrook branch of the library. The lady at library was a real through-back to the stereotype library lady; plaid skirt, glasses, and bun.

Looks like Judy’s eye will be okay. Got something in it, not sure what, Barry got it out, numbed it and gave here some antibiotics.

Not much of an afternoon, just not 100%. Took a nap and that was it. Didn’t get any work on the dulcimer, but I did work on my guitar fingering while we watched our second installment of the Indiana Jones movies, Temple of Doom.
