In the teens to start the day. Funny it didn’t seem that cold. Must be the extra humidity in the air from the wet snow.

Worked with my new DVD by Stephen Seifert on how to play the dulcimer. He has a very measured approach. I think I like it. The DVD gives you a better understanding of the instrument and where you can play the same song. He also gives you ideas on how you can make songs your own. I am looking forward to working his system some more.

Headed to the Narrows for my hike. Got there and found out my left boot was blown. I thought I was feeling a little dampness. Well it was almost a two inch hole right where the boot upper meets the sole. Went on my hike anyway. The hole wasn’t all the way through, the inner boot was still in tact, but i stayed away from anything really wet. It worked out. I orders some Vasque Sundowners when I got home. I guess tomorrow I will have to use my work boots for my hike. I hope the steel toes don’t get my toes too cold.

Watched a couple of movies on pay-per-view. G-force, the movie that uses the animated hamsters with the classic line, “Poop in his hands, poop in his hands. This movie could be a classic. Well not really, but it was a lot of fun. The other movie was The invention of Lying. It had Jennifer Garner. It was interesting. Will never be a big time classic.

The Superbowl had an interesting first half, first quarter all Colts, second quarter to the  Saints. Halftime with the Who. Thise guys are looking a little long in the tooth.

The Saints figure out Manning, get him for a pick six and win their first Super Bowl 31-17. If the NFL indicator is still alive and well when a NFC tram wins the stock market has a good year. We will see what happens there.

It really wasn’t that much snow. I appears we got something less than six inches, but it was very site specific. Greg thought he had about eight. It was wet so I went and got Dave’s snow blower. Made life a lot simpler. The sun came out a little. The temperature was in the upper twenties for most of the day.

Dayton got a big win over Xavier 90-65. UD played about as well as they could. If they could play that way all the time, they would be unbeaten.

Worked on the guitar and dulcimer today. It has been awhile since I picked up the guitar, but I am maintaining, still a long way to go. Received the new dulcimer lesson in the mail. The first DVD was pretty much a review, but it gave me some tips that might make my play more consistant.

Greg and I hiked the Narrows. Was nice. The snow wasn’t bad. The sun poked through and with all the snow on the trees is was very pretty. Would have been nice to have my camera.

The snow took until after 10:00 AM to start, but around here it is really coming slow. Maybe overnight it will pound us, but until now it is very underwhelming.

Met with the Precious Blood investment Committee this morning, Everything is going as well as can be expected with the current investing climate. I think the nuns want everything to happen quickly, they must learn patients, “grasshopper.”

Greg took care of the piece of tooth I broke off last night. A little putty and good as new. He showed me his new laser. Not what I expected. I expected a big box of some sort. It’s just a small thing, it’s a lot smaller than the weather station box in the family room. Greg has the best toys.

Not much going on at work. A little hectic when the decision was made to cancel. Probably for the best, there would not have been much of a crowd.

Worked on the dulcimer some more. I will get it to my satisfaction sometime.

The weather is still saying warm ahead of the impending snow storm. It was thirty-eight when I came home from work. They are all wound up at work for about the possible day off due to the snow gut says it will be a big a-dew about nothing.

My gut says Kevin has about had it with Xenia Community Schools. If he could find something. my guess he will be gone. Can’t blame him.

Figured a good fix for the tennis sticks. The stretch gauze stuff the training room has worked really well. It should even work long term. I asked one of the guys today and he liked how it worked.

Worked on the dulcimer for awhile. If I keep the songs simple. It works pretty well. Just have to get my big fat fingers in the right place.

Started out sunny, it didn’t last. The temperature was in the mid thirties. I have come to the part of winter where this temperature is starting to feel warm.

Wasn’t real busy at work today. We had our signing day. On to Ball State on to Findlay.

Had one of my preseason tennis sessions. Used the tennis ball sticks. I think they might work pretty well getting the guys to use better footwork and recognizing their spacing from the ball. The foam by the head is taking a beating, I think tape should solve the problem.

Worked on the dulcimer some more. Getting the hang of it. Still need more work on getting my fingers to do exactly the way I want. It will come,,, I hope.
