They RIF’d me today. Kevin thought I might be spared, but it didn’t happen that way. Guess we will have to see what the future brings.

Told the tennis kids that I won’t be back. What ever job I get don’t think they will be flexible enough to let me coach tennis. Since I was only going to do it one more year anyway this will work out even if, by some miracle, Kevin gets his idea through.

Hot humid day.

Quiet at work, tie is winding down. Just two more days to go.

Had my second quick start tennis day. Only two kids showed up for the quick start and one from the team. Not going as well as I hoped. The guys better be working and playing on their own or next spring will be a long one for the tennis team.

When the kids left I worked on hitting a semi-western or extreme eastern grip. Took me a while and I probably will be sore tomorrow, but it will be from hitting it incorrectly rather hitting it right. I think I got it. We will see the next time I hit. The ones that worked seemed to have more power and definitely more top spin. I am not sure I can get to a full western.

Probably should have cut grass, but the weather should be good tomorrow as well and the grass can wait.

Headed back to town. the weather is still hot and sticky. Would have liked to have a real spring. Looks like we are just going to have summer.

Nice ride back to Dayton, traffic wasn’t too bad. The weather will probably give me an excuse to not take a hike today. Just don’t feel really motivated.

Headed out in the morning to spend some more time in the Mohican State Forest. The lodge there is very nice.  We had lunch there, not too exciting.

The GPS can get confused when you are in the hills. It had a little trouble getting us good directions sometimes. It didn’t help there were some bad signs confusing us as well. A word to the wise, make sure to have maps available as well.

We had a reservation at the Mohican River Inn for the night. The pictures on the internet made the place look pretty special. Unfortunately, it was a very tired place, kind of broken down. We tried to get one of their special rooms with a view, but the air conditioning didn’t work.

The valley the motel is in is really interesting. The Mohican River runs down the middle and there are a series of regular and RV camps along the river. Looked like you could end up flooded if you were not careful. I can see the appeal.

Nice breakfast at the B & B, she says wait until tomorrow.

Victoria gave us directions on where to go to see Amish Country. Pretty area, Judy wasn’t really big into going into all the shops , so we  just had a nice drive. Got some good pastries and headed back to the B & B. They were surprised we got back so quickly, but with no shopping it is really just a nice drive.

It was interesting getting behind some of the Amish carriages. Really tough to get around and makes you paranoid when you come up behind one coming up a hill. There are still people moving at pretty high speeds so it is not easy to just go around. The cart drivers are kind of oblivious, if I were them, I would be trying to help get others around me.

Watched the end of the U.S. versus England game. U.S. got fortunate to tie England 1-1 on a bad keeper error. All he needed to do was get behind the ball.

Went to dinner at Malabar Farm Inn. The food was okay, but nothing special for me. Judy liked her tilapia.

Took it easy the rest of the evening.
