June 6, 2010: Graduation Party

The weather is starting to finally break back to spring. Low humidity and temperate temperatures. Hiked in the morning at the Narrows. A little wet from the rains over night, but not too bad. Nice and peaceful.

Church lasted a little longer than usual this morning. Had a missionary there and the sub priest also had to have his few words as well. They didn’t offer to give us our money back.

Went to Elise’s graduation party. They had it at Kevin and Eddie’s place. Its nice, the real joke was they had to clean it up for the party. The whole Mescher clan was there, it seems to get bigger all the time.

June 5, 2010: Movie Day

Went hiking at the Narrows with Greg. Nice quiet morning, not many in the park. When we finished there was only one other car in the lot. Greg showed me the new “shoes” he got. They are made by Vibram, they are called five fingers. The shoes have compartments for your toes, so it is kind of like walking barefoot. He was hoping to have them for his trip to the beach, but they got to him too late. There are different versions for different tasks. I guess I will just have to see how he likes them. An interesting idea going back to you roots and going sort of barefoot.

It was really cloudy, the expectation was rain most of the day, so I started my time at home watching the US beat Australia in soccer 3-1. Then I graduated to movies, nothing special just fun ones from more the recent past.

Judy and I finished the evening watching the last Harry Potter on DVD. the Half Blood Prince. Now we will just have to wait for the final book to be made into a movie. I think they said that since it is such a long book the movie would be broken into two parts. It’s funny seeing the guy who plays Harry now. Usually your leading character is the tall guy. Even though he is through growing he is only 5′ 6″. The girl lead is his same height and Ron, the second guy, is 5′ 10″.

June 4, 2010: Teachers Escape

Quite day at work, still really warm. The weather isn’t expected to break until Sunday.

Last day with teachers in the building, they are pretty much like the kids, chomping at the bit to get on with summer. Can’t blame them. I have six days left over the next two weeks.

Got the grass cut, kept looking threatening so I didn’t go for a hike. Saturday’s weather doesn’t look real good. Hopefully Greg and I can get out in the morning to hike, but it might be mostly an inside day.

June 3, 2010: Real Estate Meeting

Another hot one.

Didn’t get much done today preparing for the meeting with the Oberers and the Dilles.

The meeting went well, no problems like last time. George Oberer and Tom McCann didn’t have a real cheerful outlook. This will be a tough deal. The Austin Road development now has retail. They feel it will be a big competitor. They may be right, but I think if you really understand the market the Dille site is superior.

June 2, 2010: Alarming

Greg gave me a call, he has some free time this afternoon, so we are going to hike.

Little hick-up in our hike, Greg’s alarm accidentally went off at his office so, he had to wait for the police and file a report.

We had a nice hike at the Narrows still pretty warm here for this time of year.
