December 3, 2014: New iPhones

Crazy night last night. Woke up last night around 2:30 AM, didn’t fall back asleep. Hope I sleep better tonight. If not I will be taking Alive with Benadril on Friday night.

Interesting day so far at Greenon. The school has a transgender student. Creates some interesting issues trying to be respectful and appropriate with a school full of people that are not necessarily sympathetic.

Had a student lie to me today. I didn’t appreciate it. The crazy thing is they didn’t even have to.

This whole track thing is nuts. I think Jared might be on to something on changing the coaching job from assitants to skills coaching. Maybe have one head coach over all and to be responsible for the paper.

We got our new iPhones. It’s taking some time to get it all set up.

December 2, 2014: Starting Again…

Saw an article on how you should write everyday. Thought about this blog again, so here I go again.

Looked through my old entries, saw the one where I wrote about Daisy’s last day. Now I wish I would have kept up with this more.

Called LL Bean today to get the miss-ship fixed. I bought four sweaters and received three. The fourth item was Chinese silk long underwear. When I told the rep about the problem he got a good laugh. It was funny. They are shipping the missing sweater with a return label for the underwear.

While I was on the phone I saw a big red fox amble across the yard. Popcorn was not impressed, she growled at him. The fox was not impressed. He even stopped to scratch an itch. I think he went into the drain at the end of the creek. Hope to see him again.

Saw a Diners, Drive-ins and Dives that featured an Indianapolis restaurant called Zest. Might be worth a drive to Indy to give it a try.

Received word at Greenon today that the OHC doesn’t want to merge with the CBC, but they do want to get bigger. The OHC doesn’t get it that they would be better off in a 20 team league than a ten to twelve team league. People a Greenon believe that it would be better off in the OHC. For football competition it would make sense, but not sure it works for all of the other sports.

July 19, 2011: Yoga

Went to my first yoga class with Jen. The class was interesting. The room was a little warm for me, I was sweating like a pig before it was over. I have a little better appreciation for what I am supposed to be doing when I do yoga out of a book.

Tim called us fo r lunch and we went to a Vietnamese restaurant. I had Poo with chicken. I got to meet Sam and Dirk, they seem like good guys.

Spent the afternoon doing laundry and catching up on this blog.

July 18, 2011: Hiking and a Little Tennis

Jen is going to keep me busy hile i am in Portland. We went to the “Blue Plate” for lunch, this was the place I saw on Diner, Drive-ins and Dive on TV. It was kind of  a cool place. Weird seeing the lady I saw on TV, she even waited on us. I had the cheese sandwich and tomato soup with a chocolate malt. Jen had the special a hot dog with mashed potatoes. The two hot dogs were halved an put on bread, an interesting presentation, not what I was expecting. She also had a hand made Hawaiian soda. Nice flavor.

Ater lunch we headed out for a hike at Forest Park. Forest Park is the largest wooded park in any city in the U.S.. We walked 9.62 miles according to my new GPS with the fastest mile just under 17 minutes. It’s a nice place to hike. We just did the roas that bisect the park. It is kind of an optical illusion you seem to be going up hill both ways. The reality is you go up hill for the first mile and a half or so and then your elevation changes little. Sure doesn’t look that way thought.

After the hike we met up with Tim at the Rose Garden tennis courts to play a little. Hit with my restrung racquet, seems to work fine. Unfortunately, the rain came and we did play in the rain for about 45 minutes, but when the balls started to rooster-tail it was time to head home.

July 17, 2011: Rain Like Dayton

The weather has been kind of strange here in Portland since Judy headed home. It has been cloudy and rainy, really different from past experiences of mostly sunny and hot. Today’s rain was more like Ohio, kind of hard and straight down. Tim and Jen even commented on the strangeness.
